We got away and made it to Flagstaff for a couple of days last week. Andrew really needed to find some snow to throw at his little sister and Charlie and I needed to find some time away from computers, phones and his work. Well, his work found him eventually, but it wasn't until the 11th hour, so we got in some good family time after all. We were just grateful that Andrew had finally stopped throwing up long enough to begin to enjoy eating again. There's nothing worse than watching your kid fight a terrible stomach virus. I was a Nervous Nelly who ended up taking him to the Dr.s' a total of 3 times, as I was determined to keep him out of the hospital this time. Thankfully, he recovered on his own in time to enjoy the snow up north. Whew!
Christmas time is a magical time to go up north and experience real cold weather. All the shops had lights up, the hotel went out of their way to make our experience memorable and the little toy store had the best present ever, magical, sparkly wands that Andrew and Kate both fell head over heals for! The best $7.00 ever spent!
Love this picture of the real moment when Andrew was protesting the chap stick treatment for his red and sore lips! We were so ready to play and have fun. It took a little convincing, but he really did enjoy himself after this!
