Kate turns 2!

Kate and her friend Matt shared a petting zoo birthday party complete with the most spectacular birthday cake ever created by my good friend Dana Brown with Simply Sweets. She is really top notch when it comes to delicious custom cakes and I'm so lucky to call her a friend too!

Kate is animal crazy so we hired a local company to come and share their friends with us for the morning. Jody brought along 2 roosters, 3 bunnies, 3 lambs, 2 goats, 2 baby pigs and a miniature baby cow! It was awesome watching her bend over and blow kisses to each one!

These little lambs were just precious and Kate enjoyed every minute of it! This lamb was a tiny bit forceful as it sucked every drop of milk out which made Kate giggle with delight!

Cake time with Matt and our friends and family. We sang for the 2 little ones and then we dismantled the cake. I'm always impressed with the taste of Dana's cakes, but this one was the best yet! Everyone agreed that it was almost too pretty to cut.

We have to take a moment and thank our heavenly team of angels who parted the clouds and brought out the sun just for Kate and Matt. Charlie worked very hard to protect our yard from the flood of water all week and it worked! We really needed the rain, but we were so thankful that the party went off without mud and drizzle. Just as everyone was heading home the clouds came back and the temperature dropped. Now, on to life with a 2 year old, I'm sure she's into something as I type this!
